Sundry Sunday :: my urban dictionary: tonal reference points

6 Dec

Def.: Tones of voice used by fictional characters in key conversations that can be cited as a way to explain one’s own tone of voice to someone else.

Usage: Honestly, most of my tonal reference points stay internal, because if I tried to explain to someone that I was saying something in the way that the cats from Sailor Moon said something one time they would look at me with confusion and possibly derision that I just don’t have time for.
