  • 37% are by at least partially female bands or female artists, 5% in the top 10, 9% in the top 25.  21% of the non-soundtrack or compilation albums are by at least partially female bands or artists (6% of that is Pentatonix).
  • 23% of that for songs is repeat artists: 5% Ariana Grande, 5% Taylor Swift (2 in the top 10), 4% Meghan Trainor (2 in the top 10), 3% Pentatonix, 2% Idina Menzel, 2% Iggy Azalea, 2% Jessie J.
  • Other multiple appearances for songs include 4% Sam Smith, 3% Ed Sheeran, 2% Blake Shelton, 2% Fall Out Boy, 2% Hozier, 2% Jason Aldean, 2% Maroon 5, 2% One Direction, 2% Sam Hunt.
  • 7% of the songs are from film/television soundtracks (The Hunger Games, Sons of Anarchy, The Voice, Frozen, Big Hero 6, Breaking Dawn Part 1).  13% of the albums are soundtracks or multi-artist compilations.
  • 27% of the songs and 19% of the non-soundtrack or compilation albums are by artists I have never consciously heard of before.
  • 2% are songs I know they play at my work, and I know that this is a low estimate because I’m sure they play more of these songs and I just don’t know what they’re called or who sings them.
  • 5% are Christmas songs, while 40% of the top albums are Christmas-related.
