Sundry Sunday :: my urban dictionary: Vampire Authority test

6 Jul

Def.: in the nature of the Bechdel test, the Troy and Abed test, or the Mako Mori test, the Vampire Authority test is a test devised to measure the following easy thing: is a group of fictional characters (specifically those in power, i.e. a government or supervisory board) evenly or just about evenly gender-split?  Derived from True Blood‘s Vampire Authority of season five, which as Nora (Lucy Griffiths) took great pains to praise in one of the extras videos was “comprised of one guardian and six chancellors, three of whom were women.”

Usage: I’m sure I am forgetting someone, but the only other group I can think of who passes the Vampire Authority test is the founders of Hogwarts.

–your fangirl heroine.
