Things in Print Thursday :: the 2014 Pulitzer Prizes and women

3 Jul

Since I looked at the theatre nominations last week, I decided I’d add this year into my overall summary of this award.

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (winner)

The Flick by Annie Baker (winner)
The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence by Madeleine George
Fun Home by Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori

A Dreadful Deceit: The Myth of Race from the Colonial Era to Obama’s America by Jacqueline Jones

Biography or Autobiography
Margaret Fuller: A New American Life by Megan Marshall

6 out of 21 nominees this year were women, and 2 women won.  Drama was the only category with multiple female nominees.
