Fashion Friday :: this is the all-time longest series of things I have. What of it?

12 Oct

It’s just that there are so many fierce fantastic ladies in this canon.  And I’d feel bad if I left any of them, even teensy Myrcella (Aimee Richardson) out.  Also, big girl does little girl clothes are fun for me.  Hipster babydoll princess Myrcella, the sweetheart who does not deserve the pile of hell she has been born into and also is dangerously cute because she can be and it makes her happy, even if it’s “quirky.”  I figure hipster babydoll princess Myrcella would be one of those girls who gets called “quirky,” and she’s one of those girls who just doesn’t care.  She likes pretty things, and guess what, that’s totally okay.

But I don’t think I can explain how perfect this dress may well be.  If we harken way back to hipster businesswoman Cersei, it may be remembered that her dress was in the same color family; somehow, I’m imagining some ridiculous we-are-the-family-of-politicians family photograph, where Cersei’s picked out the pink dress and Myrcella decides she’s going to wear a pink dress too, to match, and then Tyrion’s just sitting there going “really, I don’t know who your daughter got her considerateness from,” but while the whole family picture turns out sketchy (I mean, Joffrey’s in it, of course it’s going to be sketchy) the pictures of just Cersei and Myrcella, or Cersei and Myrcella and darling little Tommen, turn out actually kind of adorable.  And then Cersei is filled with angst in her heart for many reasons, and Myrcella blinks her eyes and tries to make everything seem sweeter.  Chasing Moonbeams Dress, ModCloth.

And remember the thing of Myrcella being quirky.  This is, I think, one of those outfits that Cersei would never have picked out, were she still dressing her daughter, but she has to admit that Myrcella has a way of pulling it off.  Berry Bramble Tights, ModCloth.

Similarly, Cersei is probably going “of all of the colors in those stockings, that’s the one you chose to match your shoes to?” and “of all of the shoes in your closet, those are the ones you choose to wear with this?”  And Myrcella just beams sweetly and replies, “I think they’re pretty.”  And there will be no further discussion.  Notch in Your Step Heel in Caramel, ModCloth.

And I don’t even care.  Since Myrcella and Tommen are the kittens of the Lannister lions in multiple ways.  Cat Pendant Necklace – Gold, Target.

And just in case this outfit didn’t have enough going on, add a relatively large and swirly partially-floral barrette to give it that touch of vintage.  Twisty Vines Garden Pearl Hair Barrette, 1928.
