Sundry Sunday :: my reactions to the Olympics’ closing ceremony, featuring my urban dictionary

12 Aug

(Exactly how it sounds.)

Aside from excessive commentator fatigue, I really did enjoy watching the Olympics most of the time.  I never actually watched the whole opening ceremony, but the closing ceremony… well, yeah.  Especially in places, that was a triple trainwreck.  I mean, Olympic ceremonies are always weird, weird things.  And I’m sure it’s just that I’ve never watched the others with rational brain going, but I couldn’t help but think that, while acceptable in some places, they were sort of like zombies in others (for example, the differences in the revealing nature of costumes for the male versus the female dancers).  I loved that several of the countries, including Germany, provided their athletes with coordinated douchapeaus.  About halfway through, I’m very glad that I decided to get at least on the way to hamsters drunk to sit through the rest of the ceremony.
