As evidenced by the fact that there is a song of theirs on approximately 62.5% of the fanmixes I make, ever, I love Eisley hard. They are adorable and whimsical and at times they unnerve me they are so lyrically awesome. And some of their songs legit are kind of intellectually creepy; I mean, “Invasion“? “Telescope Eyes“? They’re a family of geniuses. And I love their harmonies and just voices in general, always.
(And they’re adorable. That too.)
The Valley is really just what I was hoping for. There’s a teensy bit less whimsy than on, say, Room Noises, but as iTunes pointed out, they’ve had some serious business in their lives since Combinations. Relationship dramas and the like, but those can be big influences on things like music. Songs like “Smarter” are downright break-uppy, but I’m always looking for good break-up songs, so I can’t complain.
The lyrics are just beautiful, always. The harmonies are beautiful, always. The instrumentations are beautiful, always. I kind of have very little bad to say about this album. I’ve been a fan of the song “Ambulance” since its being on one of their EPs, and shamelessly use it on one of my favoritest mixes, but still implore you to take a listen if you haven’t to it because it is BEAUTIFUL. This entire album is beautiful.
